[IPP] RFC: Review/update PWG 5100.7: Standard for IPP: Job Extensions

All,

Following up on my action item, the following specifications reference PWG 5100.7: IPP Job and Printer Extensions (attributes that are used are in parenthesis):

	• PWG 5100.11: IPP Job and Printer Extensions - Set 2 (informative reference)
	• PWG 5100.14: IPP Everywhere (compression-supplied, document-format-supplied, document-format-version, document-format-version-supplied, document-name-supplied, job-mandatory-attributes, print-content-optimize[-default/-supported])
	• PWG 5100.15: IPP FaxOut Service (compression-supplied, document-format-supplied, document-format-version, document-format-version-supplied, document-name-supplied, print-content-optimize[-default/-supported])
	• PWG 5100.17: IPP Scan Service (document-name)
	• PWG 5100.18: IPP Shared Infrastructure Extensions (compression-supplied, document-format-supplied, document-format-version, document-format-version-supplied, document-name-supplied, job-mandatory-attributes, print-content-optimize[-default/-supported])
	• PWG 5100.19: IPP Implementor's Guide v2.0 (job-mandatory-attributes)

The list of attributes above supports my proposal - document-format-version is used in several of the above specifications, but I'm not sure why...

The "ipp-attribute-fidelity" and "job-mandatory-attributes" operation attributes (that are checked at Job submission) are "promoted" to Job Description (what we'd now call Job Status) attributes, without a corresponding definition of the amended semantics for the corresponding Job Creation operations. (and ideally these should have been exposed as xxx-supplied attributes...)

"document-format-details (collection)" has problems - none of the identifying document-source-xxx member attributes uses keywords for the application or OS names, even though the OS names are coming from an IANA registry, and document-format-device-id is not something we want to use now. Plus, all of these contain unauthenticated PII.

Ideally we should do an errata update of 5100.7, but I know *I* don't have the bandwidth for that at the moment. And these days we'd just do an IPP Registration document since this is just a collection of OPTIONAL attributes and values being registered.
