Hi,

Exciting positive update on JDFMAP for SM call Monday (I have a conflict
and won't be able to attend).

Cheers,
- Ira

All,

I would say three example job tickets should be sufficient:

1. Simplex A4 job (dead simple job)
2. Duplex US Letter job on Glossy media with multiple copies, staple, and
letter fold (covers media type, duplex, copies, and common finishing
operations for billing/marketing)
3. Duplex A3 job with multiple copies, saddle stitch, booklet
fold/imposition, and cover (more complex mapping for reports/small
publications)

I don't think the goal should be a prototype of every possible mapping -
all we need to do is show that the mapping described in the JDFMAP document
is feasible/reasonable to implement.

Hi Rainer,

Good. A few simple realistic JDF job ticket examples (such as the one you
suggested) is what we need for the prototyping activity.

I'll get back to you early in the new year.

BTW - I've copied Mike Sweet (Apple, CUPS guru and former PWG Chair)
and Smith Kennedy (HP, new PWG Chair) as well as Daniel, Rick, and Paul
(aka the usual suspects).

Cheers,
- Ira
