Hi All,

I put together an initial list of proposed work items for 2010 that the IDS group might want to consider

Randy

Standard Methods for NAC Device Remediation
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the IDS team should take up the topic of creating a standard method for NAC device remediation, possibly with the cooperation of a large NAC vendor such as Symantec or other NAC vendor. Microsoft seems unwilling to carry on the discussion regarding “non-Windows” devices on a network that need to be assessed.

Authorization Framework for Hardcopy Devices
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Hardcopy devices, especially high-end multifunction devices, function using different types of authorization capabilities than that of traditional desktop devices. I think it would help industry interoperability and policy creation if the PWG came up with an authorization “namespace” specifically for the hardcopy industry. Possibly with a recommended (existing) XML dialect in which to express authorization policy

Standard Log File Formats for Printers and MFDs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are large enterprise software packages and applications that help large enterprise companies be compliant with regulatory requirements such as SOX, HIPAA, GLB, and others. In a multi-vendor printing and imaging environment, it is difficult for these large software applications to take into account the printing and imaging log files, given each vendors’ proprietary format.

Ongoing Liaison Activity with the TCG HCWG
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Keeping each group informed (at a high-level) about activities
