Hello, All,

I've attached a document that describes the Consideration on Service
Descriptor Syntax.

Current Draft (PPDT_r04.pdf as of July 6, 1999) specifies the
SERVICE_ID parameter as a registered service name string.

The use of simple service name string registered with a naming
authority as specified in the draft will make the information, that
would be advertised by the service on service discovery, very
restrictive.

If very poor descriptor format is employed for the SERVICE_ID, it will
enforce yet another discovery over the service discovered by the
SERVICE_DIRECTORY discovery.

I've made a consideration to avoid such a repetition. The document also
addresses the "differentiate different registration authorities" issue
that arose at the New Orleans meeting.

If you have any suggestion and/or comment, please feel free to discuss
on this list.

Regards,

Akihiro Shimura
