Hi,
Since Jerry Thrasher has announced the Formal Approval of
the PDM WG Charter (on 8 May 2007), I updated the source
document to change the status to 'Approved' and posted it
in the new PDM WG directory tree:
ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/pdm/charter/ch-pdm-20070508.doc
- MS Word source
ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/pdm/charter/ch-pdm-20070508.pdf
- PDF w/ line numbers
Rick will shortly copy (NOT just move) all of the files
from the /pub/pwg/BOFs/pdm tree to the /pub/pwg/pdm tree
(to preserve stable links from the email archive).
All - recommended reading is the current PWG Namespace Policy
in the directory:
ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/general/process
in the file:
pwg-namespace-policy-20060112.txt
It contains many realistic examples of the lifecycle of
working group documents.
In particular, the PWG Namespace Policy recommends the use
of hyphens rather than underscores in all filenames because
they remain visible when URLs are underlined by web browsers
and email readers. Also, spaces are PROHIBITED in filenames,
because they're unsafe/unsupported in many operating systems.
Cheers,
- Ira
