I was referring to English engineering sizes of A (same as letter), B (same
as ledger),
C, D and E.

What do you mean with A being 8.5x11? Maybe I am not understanding what you
A, B, C etc. refer to.
ISO A4 is 210x297 mm, A3 is 297x420 mm, etc.
