Hi,

I've just posted an Initial draft of the PWG Power Management MIB:

  ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/wd/wd-wimspowermib10-20091112.mib
  - full ASN.1 source with compliance statements, defaults, references, etc.

I've just posted a Prototype draft of the PWG Power Management Model:

  ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/wd/wd-wimspower10-20091112.pdf / doc
  - clean copy

  ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/wims/wd/wd-wimspower10-20091112-rev.pdf / doc
  - redlines

This draft is technically aligned with the Power MIB.

Comments?

Cheers,
- Ira

Changes made to create 12 November 2009 version (Prototype Draft)

Editorial – Kept document status as Prototype

Editorial – Global – fixed several typos and obscure wordings, per WIMS WG
discussion

Technical – Revised section 2.3 Datatype Terminology to clarify ‘string’
mapping for SNMP MIB (either SnmpAdminString for localized info or
DisplayString for keywords), per WIMS WG discussion

Editorial – Revised section 2.4 Power Terminology to clarify IEEE 1621
“power modes” versus DMTF CIM “power states”, per WIMS WG discussion

Editorial – Replaced ‘power mode’ with ‘power state’ throughout section 3,
per Bill Wagner

Editorial – Renamed section 4 to Relationship to Other Public Standards
and renamed subsections appropriately

Technical – Added section 4.4 IETF Printer MIB – Alerts and Notifications
and section 4.5 DMTF CIM – Alerts, per WIMS WG discussion

Editorial – Clarified Usage clause for PowerStateMessage in Power Monitor
and Power Log groups, per WIMS WG discussion

Editorial – Renamed PowerStateTimestamp to PowerStateDateAndTime in
Power Log group (to avoid collision with the SMIv2 datatype ‘Timestamp’,
an integer)

Technical – Changed Default Value of PowerLogComponentType to ‘system’
in Power Log group (consistent with REQUIRED support for System object)

Technical – Added missing Default Value clause to PowerUsageWatts in
Power Support group, per WIMS WG discussion

Editorial – Clarified zero (nominal immediate) in StateChangeSeconds in
Power Transition group

Editorial – Renamed numerous values in PowerStateWKV, to place all
qualifiers (Hard, Graceful, etc.) as suffixes rather than prefixes,
and to correct
a duplicate name (found in SNMP MIB development)
