It has been noted that Section 8.4 of CSS Print contains informative
text about default style rules, and some of that text is out-of-date
with respect to the latest version of CSS 2.1 at
http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/. (For example, a rule is suggested to use
small-caps to render abbreviations. This suggestion is incorrect.)
The next version of CSS Print will remove most of this section, to avoid
inconsistencies with CSS 2.1. The default style sheet in Appendix E of
CSS 2.1 is what should be used.
Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.
Best wishes,
Melinda
