? I'm proposing handling this in the IPP working group meeting, not in the
IFAX working group meeting. I cc'd IFAX because it's another working group
meeting that people might find interesting, at least if this topic is on
the agenda.

This makes no sense: (a) IFAX with capabilities might include non-image
formats, and (b) in the printer-formats-supported attribute of IPP, it's
certainly possible and reasonable to include image formats including
image/tiff; application=faxcolor etc.
There's a large overlap in companies (if not individuals) between FAX and
IPP working groups, and it is my impression that many devices may support
both protocols.
