This isn't true. 1.0 servers should respond without any difficulty to
a HTTP/1.1 request. See RFC 2145 I J. Mogul, R. Fielding, J. Gettys,
H. Nielsen, "Use and interpretation of HTTP version numbers", 05/23/1997.
