There is a simple answer to your question. The whole idea about job template
attributes is that they complement or override what is in the document data.
This corresponds to your case 2).
So, if there is no corresponding specification inside the document, the
printer should use the job template attribute value in combination with
other information in the document, but if the document contains the same
kind of information e.g. number of copies, the job template attribute should
override what is in the document. HOW the latter is done is a matter of
implementation; replacing the information within the document is one of
several possible ways to do the override.
