Paul,

What is Gena?

Also for the delivery method that uses the same channel connection as an IPP
request, such as the Get-Notifications method (method number 3), it would
use whatever port the IPP request came in on. That method would be a
different URL scheme than the one for Hugo's method (method number 10): "IPP
Notification Delivery Protocol over HTTP".

This thread has been talking about Hugo's method: "IPP Notification
Delivery Protocol over HTTP".

We will have a number of different URL schemes for IPP notification
delivery, including good old "mailto:".

Tom

The alternative is to use GENA - currently an I-D if we only want
notifications.

My point was the the reverse channel may be useful for all sorts of things
other
than notifications. IN this case it makes sense to use ipp protocol and ipp
scheme
