    Hi Carl-Uno and Tom,

Because Nancy and I have been travelling, I haven't been
able to revise the IPP Notifications over SNMP (via traps
in the PWG Job Mon MIB) I-D based on recent email and
telecon discussion. I hope to work on this in the next week
or two. Our recent efforts to dramatically reduce the number
of REQUIRED attributes in the various IPP notifications will
make it much easier to specify the SNMP mapping.

Good luck at your face-to-face meetings next week.

    Cheers,
    - Ira McDonald, consulting architect at Xerox and Sharp

    Meeting, 5/17-18, New York City

    Tom,

I think you are going a bit overboard with this right now.

There are a number of documents in this list which we consider to be
    finished, and might as best use as reference material, but nothing else;
e.g. the Job and Printer Set Operations is DONE, unless somebody comes in
with any serious objections by this Friday.

I am not going to repeat the reports from Australia or Japan, please read
the minutes from these meetings if you are interested.

We are going to spend time on Notifications. I want to close our discussions
on all the major Notifications documents in this upcoming meeting and I
don't want to spend yet another IPP meeting going over the same old issues
over and over again, this is unproductive.

We need to clean up most of the ongoing documents before jumping ahead on
new interesting subjects, otherwise we will noever get anything finished. We
have to eat our broccoli first...

So the high priority brocolli subjects for this meeting are:

    - Notifications, notifications, notfications...
    - Collections (another subject that we have killed too much time on already)
    - Implementer's Guide update
    - Preparations for our next bake-off

Some of the desert subjects, (depending on how much longer
we are going to waffle around with Notifications) are:

    - Driver downloads
    - New Operations
    - Production Printing etc.

We will have the extra meeting on Wednesday evening
    (suggested time between 7 - 9 pm):

    - PWG and Open Source (a dozen people have notified me that
they will attend this one, please let me know if you will attend)

I suggest you all prioritise your pre-reading accordingly.

    Carl-Uno
