Here are the recently announced IETF Internet Drafts for IPP along with
their alternative forms down loaded to the PWG FTP site. I've put the
announcement of the down loads in a single mail message, instead of separate
replies to each I-D announcement, in order to reduce the mail traffic.

These 12 documents have been updated as requested by our Area Director, Ned
Freed, as part of his review with the IESG. Most of his comments dealt with
IANA registration. There are typos and other clarifications included that
have been pointed out on the mailing list during thee last nine months.

I had announced previously the down load of the IPP Notifications and
Subscriptions Spec (doc #4 below) down-load on 7/24, since I had sent the
wrong document to the IETF. I'll re-send it on 8/13/00 when the IETF
black-out is over. Also I had announced previously the IPPGET spec (doc #5
below) down-load on 7/20. However, I've included them here too, so that all
12 IPP documents are in a single mail message.

(The only other IPP documents that are waiting for our Area Director and
    IESG Review are:
    a. The LDAP directory schema, 12/20/2000 - see

    1. Title : Internet Printing Protocol (IPP): The 'collection'

                              attribute syntax
            Author(s) : R. deBry, T. Hastings, R. Herriot, K. Ocke, P.
    Zehler
            Filename : draft-ietf-ipp-collection-05.txt
            Pages : 44
            Date : 23-Jul-01

This document specifies an OPTIONAL attribute syntax called
'collection' for use with the Internet Printing Protocol/1.0
    (IPP) [RFC2565, RFC2566], IPP/1.1 [RFC2911, RFC2910]. A
'collection' is a container holding one or more named values,
    which are called 'member' attributes.

    Installation
                              Extension
            Author(s) : H. Parra, T. Tronson, T. Hastings
            Filename : draft-ietf-ipp-install-04.txt
            Pages : 30
            Date : 23-Jul-01

This document describes an OPTIONAL extension to the Internet
    Printing Protocol/1.0 (IPP) [RFC2566, RFC2565] and IPP/1.1 [RFC2911,
RFC2910]. Various client platforms require that some setting up take
place at the workstation before the client can properly submit jobs
    to a specific printer.

This document is one of a set of documents, which together describe
all aspects of a new Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). IPP is an
application level protocol that can be used for distributed printing

    4. Title: Internet Printing Protocol (IPP): IPP Event Notifications and
    Subscriptions

This document describes an OPTIONAL extension to the Internet
       Printing Protocol/1.0 (IPP) [RFC2566, RFC2565] and IPP/1.1 [RFC2911,
RFC2910]. This extension allows a client to subscribe to printing
related Events. Subscriptions are modeled as Subscription Objects.
The Subscription Object specifies that when one of the specified
Events occurs, the Printer sends an asynchronous Event Notification
to the specified Notification Recipient via the specified Delivery
Method (i.e., protocol). A client associates Subscription Objects
with a particular Job by performing the Create-Job-Subscriptions
operation or by submitting a Job with subscription information. A
client associates Subscription Objects with the Printer by performing
a Create-Printer-Subscriptions operation. Four other operations are
defined for Subscription Objects: Get-Subscriptions-Attributes, Get-
       Subscriptions, Renew-Subscription, and Cancel-Subscription.

[Didn't get distributed by the IETF as an I-D, because I sent them the
mailto spec by mistake. It should have been an I-D. I've down-loaded it to
the PWG site as if it had been an I-D. I had already announced this file in
a separate mail message on 7/24/01]

    5. Title : Internet Printing Protocol (IPP): The 'ippget'
                              Delivery Method for Event Notifications
            Author(s) : R. Herriot, C. Kugler, H. Lewis
            Filename : draft-ietf-ipp-notify-get-04.txt
            Pages : 35
            Date : 26-Jul-01

This document describes an extension to the Internet Printing
    Protocol/1.0 (IPP) [RFC2566, RFC2565] and IPP/1.1 [RFC2911, RFC2910].
This document specifies the 'ippget' Delivery Method for use with the
IPP Event Notification Specification [ipp-ntfy].The 'ippget' Delivery
Method is a 'pull and push' Delivery Method. That is, when an Event
occurs, the Printer saves the Event Notification for a period of time
called the Event Notification Lease Time. The Notification Recipient
fetches (pulls) Event Notifications using the Get-Notifications
operation. If the Notification Recipient has selected the option to
wait for additional Event Notifications, the Printer continues to
return (push) Event Notifications to the Notification Recipient as
    Get-Notification responses as Events occur.

            Filename : draft-ietf-ipp-not-06.txt

This document is one of a set of documents which together describe
all aspects of a new Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). IPP is an
application level protocol that can be used for distributed printing
on the Internet. There are multiple parts to IPP, but the primary
architectural components are the Model, the Protocol and an interface
to Directory Services. This document provides a statement of the
requirements for notifications as part of an IPP Service.

            Author(s) : T. Hastings, R. Herriot, C. Kugler, H. Lewis
            Filename : draft-ietf-ipp-job-printer-set-ops-04.txt
            Pages : 63
            Date : 23-Jul-01

This document specifies 3 additional OPTIONAL operations for use with
the Internet Printing Protocol/1.0 (IPP) [RFC2565, RFC2566], and
IPP/1.1 [RFC2911, RFC2910]. The end user, operator, and
    administrator Set-Job-Attributes and Set-Printer-Attributes
operations are used to modify IPP Job objects and Printer objects,
    respectively. The third administrator Get-Printer-Supported-Values
operation returns values that the IPP Printer will accept for setting
    its 'xxx-supported' attributes.

            Filename : draft-ietf-ipp-ops-admin-req-01.txt
            Pages : 15

This document is a submission to the Internet Printing Protocol Working
Group of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). After approval, it
is intended to be an Informational RFC. Comments should be submitted to
    the ipp@pwg.org mailing list.
This document specifies the requirements and use cases for some OPTIONAL
administrative operations for use with the Internet Printing
    Protocol/1.0 (IPP) [RFC2565, RFC2566] and IPP/1.1 [ipp-mod, ipp-pro].
Some of these administrative operations operate on the IPP Job and
Printer objects. The remaining operations operate on a new Device
object that more closely models a single output device (see [ipp-mod]).
