I have been polling our members recently and have found that perhaps there
might be a focus on pursuing work on a SCANNER MIB. I am aware that certain
organizations may be working on this already but I would appreciate hearing
back from our group as to any interest our membership has on this subject.
As a second issue, I would also like to explore the possibility of MFPA
pursuing work on the specification, formulation or simply information
collection relating to a USB Class driver for scanners and/or MFP devices.
Please comment on this subject if you have any interest.
Finally, our organization will be publishing the meeting notes from our recent
Microsoft on-site meeting with Jim Livingston (Group Program Manager, Windows
95/98 and NT) in Redmond. We are now pursuing a follow-up to this meeting to
try to formulate a recommendation to Microsoft on improvements in device setup
for MFP and scanner devices. Any companies interested in this subject, please
contact me.
