    Ira,

OK. That is more handlable. But it still means that unsupported values or
    elements are not unlikely.

I know that the PWG services are down, including the reflector. But I
think the core group is addressed here.

    ALL:

The next WBMM/WIMS conference call will be on Wednesday 17 May from 12PM to
    1PM EST.

Time: 12:00 PM EST (9:00 AM PST)
    Call-in US Toll-free: 1-877-874-5524
    Call-in International/Toll: 1-712-455-8420
    Participant Identification number: 497478#

    Proposed Agenda follows:

            A. Review Ira's Posted Imaging System Model

            B. Review attached WIMS Spec. Several questions with respect to
Management Model vs. System Model, where use of Agent/Manager is preferable
to Managed Entity/Management Station, additions, deletions and changes to
Operations and Actions. Changes have been so extensive, I have not
annotated in change notices. Change noted document is practically
    unreadable.

Objective is to put these drafts onto the site for review at F2F next
    week. (Late, but ..)

    Many thanks.

    Bill Wagner

    Hi Bill,

[By the way, all of the PWG HTTP/FTP/SMTP services
have been down entirely for several days, so no
    else is seeing this reply.]

I specifically meant 'supportedObjects' (the short
list of object classes) and NOT 'supportedElements'
(the exhaustive list of every object and every
specific element supported within those objects
    - a list of thousands of elements).

    Cheers,
    - Ira

    Ira,

For discussion at Wednesday's conference call. BTW, do you mean
    objects : SupportedObjects or
    elements : SupportedElements
    ?

    Thanks.

Subject: WBMM> New parms for RegisterForManagement

    Hi folks,

    Problem statement:

When a WIMS Agent (on a managed system) _first_ starts
an HTTP connection to its configured or discovered WIMS
Manager (fleet management system), the very _first_
operation request is RegisterForManagement. And the
WIMS Manager must reply with an operation response that
includes a Schedule (probably including SetElements
and/or SetResources actions). But the WIMS Manager
doesn't know what actions or objects are supported
by the WIMS Agent yet (only a subsequent SendReport or
SendAlert could inform him - too late).

    Here's a solution:

RegisterForManagement (sourceURI : URI, targetURI : URI,
                           operations : SupportedOperations,
                           actions : SupportedActions,
                           objects : SupportedObjects)
                           status : StatusString,
                           schedule : Schedule

So that the Agent _tells_ this Manager what operations,
actions, and objects are supported by the Agent for this
particular Manager, who has already been authenticated
(by either HTTP or TLS server authentication).

Both Pete Zehler and Bill Wagner agree that this is a
    good enhancement to RegisterForManagement.

    Comments?

    Cheers,
    - Ira
