1. I agree that the MIB relies upon the counter spec for definitions, the
terms used in the MIB must be defined in the counter spec, and it is better
not attempt any definitions in the MIB. I solicit comments on the counter
spec.
2. Next question is, should the Counter Spec include the definition of
'black', 'blank' 'fullColor' and 'highlightColor', as consistently applied
to impressions, media sheets and (where applicable) images; or need the
counter spec explicitly define each of the counters in the MIB? If
typographical conventions cause the counter named 'MediaUsed.BlackSheets' in
the Counter Spec into 'icSheetBlackSheets'in the MIB, there may need to be
some guidance on how to interpret the mapping. At any rate, I suggest the
definition of 'black', 'blank' 'fullColor' and 'highlightColor' may
reasonably fit in "Terminology".
3. Third point is the apparent discrepancy between the "Historical"
definitions (Job MIB, etc) and the current counter spec definitions. I would
appreciate more inputs on the previous historical usages of the terms used
to identify counters. "Full color" seems to be a problem and there may be
others.

The Counter Spec is the only source of normative definitions
for specific abstract counters.
Recent review of the Counter MIB has identified incomplete
and/or inconsistent definitions. Those definitions MUST be
removed entirely from the Counter MIB and be imported by
reference _only_ from the Counter Spec.
Specifically, 'black', 'blank' 'fullColor', 'highlightColor'
