Right. Unfortunately, some of the technology I'll be using to build
mine is proprietary and not likely to be open-sourced. I'll demo it
someday, but I can't give away the code. However, by an odd twist, that
could be an advantage in this case because the SBLM implementation will
    be independent.

    Hi,

Whoops! Here's the URL for the SBLIM home page:

      http://sblim.sourceforge.net/

Rick - a CIM Provider for the Print classes in SBLIM could be a second
implementation (along with yours at Dell) to move our new CIM Print
Device classes forward from Experimental to Final. Perhaps Rick and I
could collaborate on doing this work in SBLIM?

    Cheers,
    - Ira

    Hi,

Last week at the OSDL Desktop Architects conference I met Vivek Kashyap
(IBM) who works on SBLIM (pronounced
"sublime") (Standards-Based Linux Instrumentation for Manageability).

They have a 'to-do' on their short list for a Print CIM Provider, but
they already have CIMOMs running over DMTF's WBEM (different transport
from WS-Mgmt or WSDM, but who cares?) and many CIM Providers.

Rick and others - we should look into contributing to and collaborating
    with SBLIM, I think.

    Cheers,
    - Ira

PS - More on OSDL DAM3 results shortly.
