    Hi folks,

*Before* attempting to read the particular CIM classes and properties
for power state, changing power state (including at a given time), etc.,
    read DMTF DSP1027:

      http://www.dmtf.org/standards/published_documents/DSP1027_1.0.1.pdf

Short, excellent document approved in September 2008.

NOTE: IEEE 1621:2004 specifically *prohibits* exposing to users any other
power states than 'on', 'sleep', and 'off' (with optional qualifiers for soft
or hard in operations - but NOT new primary power states).

Unfortunately, due to legacy from Storage, IETF Host MIB, ACPI, etc.,
DMTF CIM defines MANY power states and does NOT disambiguate
the many apparent synonyms, e.g., "Hibernate (Off - Soft)" versus
simply "Off - Soft". So the CIM Xxx.PowerStateXxx properties are sort
of deceptive in their IEEE 1621 MappingStrings.

On a better note, DSP1027 Table 3 on page 12 maps DMTF power
states to ACPI power states - useful for PWG power state mappings.

    Cheers,
    - Ira
