Hi,

I'm working on the punch pattern list for JDF
and got the hint about the Finishing MIB definition
from Mike.

Since I don't know the background for the pattern
list in the Finishing MIB, I came across some
differencies with other sources I have - in particular
the pre-punched paper stock available from Hammermill.

I'm hoping, somebody in this forum can shed some light
on my questions:

1) fiveHoleUS
This one seems to be a combination of threeHoleUS
with two additional holes in between. The two holes
in between do neither match European/ISO nor other US
	2hole patterns I'm aware of.

Hammermill offer two 5-hole stocks which have a totally
different pattern than the one in the Finishing MIB.
		1) 0.75 - 3.5 - 3.5 - 0.75 inch
		2) 1.25 - 3 - 3 - 1.25 inch

I'm also wondering, whether there is a pattern combining
European 2-hole and US 3-hole, so that the punched
goods can be put into a European or US Ringbinder.
Maybe this application is just not big enough ...

2) sevenHoleUS
Similar to #1 - threeholeUS plus 4 additional holes.

	Hammermill:
		1) 0.75 - 1.375 - 2.125 - 2.125 - 1.375 - 0.75
		2) 1.25 - 0.875 - 2.125 - 2.125 - 0.875 - 1.25

3) twoHoleUS
Hammermill has a 2-hole stock with spacing 6 inch.
This differs significantly from the twoHoleUSSide specification.

What is the use of these two patterns?

I would be very interested in the different applications of the
3 fiveHole and 3 sevenHole patterns within the US. Thanks in advance!

Best regards
