[pwg.org] beta.pwg.org is now feature complete

Thanks Michael,

We appreciate the work that went into this, but you asked for
comments...Initial comments after a quick look.
1. I make no claim to have aesthetics capability but the home page seems
very dull visually. Perhaps at least the full PWG logo should be there. The
"Our Members" statement might be better fixed, with important new
announcements on the shifting panel. Members may be able to navigate OK but
I wonder about people just looking up the site to find something. Indeed, if
I wanted to report a spec problem, it is not even clear that I could. Nor is
it apparent that one could register to log-in as a non-member.
2. In this vein, if we anticipate potential users going to check for IPP
Everywhere printers (or even members checking on certification procedures),
I suggest that IPP Everywhere get top level in the navigation bar at the
top, rather than being buried in Our Work.
3. Logon works OK, even recovering from lost passwords. But I am not quite
sure what Manage Documents is supposed to be used for.
4. Should Profile roles include workgroup officer positions? Does the role
impact what capabilities the users has on the site?
5. The MIB RFCs reference readers to the Printer MIB and Finisher MIB
Page at the PWG website. I suspect that there are no questions anymore. But
just in case, perhaps WIMS should be listed under a MIBs top heading.
6. The links in the WIMS pages are largely wrong or too general. For example
RFC links get a 404 response; CIM reference goes to general DMTF page.
(These may be old problems - I can fix that stuff when I understand how to
modify these pages)
7. The Cloud Imaging WG Charter link is also broken, as I suspect are quite
a few more.

Subject: [pwg.org] beta.pwg.org is now feature complete

All,

The new PWG web site at:

  http://beta.pwg.org

is now "feature complete" with all outstanding tasks and issues addressed. I
will be presenting the site to the PWG Steering Committee next Thursday
(September 11) for approval.

Please try out the new site and let me know of any issues you find ASAP.

Thanks!
