Review of Working Draft:
The Printer Working Group RepertoireSupported Element
(ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/cr/wd/wd-crrs10-20030606.html)

  1. Summarize and make a picture showing the relationship of client and printer, and the environment that assumes device discovery and description.

  2. Summarize and make a picture showing the relationship between charsets and character repertoires, including mapping.

  3. Replace the term “language” with “document format” (SM reference) where appropriate.

  4. Clarify the discussion of characters that can only be accessed via document format escape mechanisms.

  5. Remove (1 sentence + para) from Appendix B.  Pete/Dennis say it is OK that these are defined elsewhere in the document.

  6. Remove SM section.  Pete will write XSDs (including well known values and patterns for extensions) based on IPP syntax.

Review of Best Practices for use of the RepertoireSupported Element (ftp://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/cr/wd/wd-crbp10-20030606.html)

  1. The term “basic” is not entirely intuitive and conflicts with the Unicode name “Basic Latin”. Look for a better term. Previous and current suggestions include:
    • preferred
    • base
    • lightweight
    • root
  2. Re-format and clarify the table of basic values.
