At the Wednesday meeting we agreed to the following states.

In the first two pairs of states there are base states of pending
and processing with a variant for each state formed by adding "stopped".
In the last triple, there are three variants with suffixes, but there
is no "done" state.

The states are:

pending
pending-stopped
processing
processing-stopped
done-aborted
done-canceled
done-completed

I suggest changing the last three states to

completed
completed-canceled
completed-abort

Then, as with the first two pairs, the single word represents the normal
case, and the suffixed variants are special cases of completion. These
single-word states then fit in with the three attributes:
time-since-pending
time-since-processing
time-since-completed
