I cannot give you any more details at this time because I haven't thought
about it enough. At this time, I don't know whether XML is a great idea
or a terrible idea. But XML is an important enough emerging standard
that we should not dismiss it without examining what the IPP protocol would
look like in XML and what its benefits would be.
Because the time is short, we need to make a decision quickly. We
also need enough details from XML experts, such as those at Microsoft,
to make an informed decision.
