The 'fit' property was discussed at length during last week's CSS WG
face-to-face meeting.
Based on those discussions, I would not be surprised if:
a) the value names were to change;
b) the property were to be extended to cover cases where height and/or
width is 'auto'.
You might choose to wait until the spec returns to CR before completing
design and beginning implementation.
